MultiCharts is a modern platform for power users. Despite its relatively recent appearance on the market, this platform has managed to become widespread among professionals, primarily due to its advanced functionality. The basis of MultiCharts is to provide a person with exactly those tools that will be convenient for him, therefore, the emphasis is on a huge number of various settings for this platform.
For any platform, charts are the most important element, very often, in order to make the right decision, a trader needs to see the change in both the smallest details and the whole picture. All this is implemented in the MultiCharts platform - a huge number of charts, as well as their settings, distinguish the described platform from most programs in its class. All graphs are "sharpened" for the requirements of specific users - the statement applies to all levels of approximation, while all unnecessary information can be easily turned off. Another distinctive feature of these charts is the ability to make any changes to the charts with just a few clicks.
Note that getting data for charts is possible from a variety of providers. In this case, you can simultaneously work with one or several sources at the same time - both in testing mode and for trading. This feature is found in only a handful of other platforms.
In order for a technical analyst to have all the required tools at hand, MultiCharts has a huge number of indicators and charts. The developers have included in the program both traditional types of charts and exotic ones - their variety can satisfy the most specific needs. This allows experienced traders to fully implement the desired strategy, controlling those features that they consider necessary and most important.
Also MultiCharts provides access to more than two hundred built-in strategies, allowing you to analyze a variety of aspects. All of them can be modified and tested.
Note that in MultiCharts automatic trading is stable. It also does not need constant monitoring - your EA has constant access to all the required market information, including data of the 2nd level, and is able to automatically correct any possible asynchronization.
The user can easily control automatic trading using the indicators located in the upper left corner of the chart. Disabling / enabling the auto trading mode is done with one click. MultiCharts provides 2 types of auto trading - synchronous and asynchronous, each of them has advantages and disadvantages. AA indicates asynchronous mode is on, SA indicates synchronous mode. An important way to control the auto trading of MultiCharts is the Order and PositionTracker function - it allows you to monitor all information on transactions that were made in auto - mode.
The most important part of trading is finding market entry points. To facilitate this task, MultiCharts created the so-called. “Market scanner” that uses the situation for the trading instruments you are interested in to monitor. Trading instruments are sorted and divided into several groups according to various criteria. For any trading instrument, it is easy to get a simple histogram, or a full, detailed chart, and all other required information. You can also set sound or visual signals for various events.
To separate working strategies from non-working ones, backtesting is used - an assessment of the effectiveness of strategies using historical data. This testing tool is essentially a separate application that is usually used along with the platform itself. The developers tried to create such a tester so that it would take into account the quotes in the past as close as possible to reality.
Thus, the so-called Portfolio Backtester was invented and implemented to optimize the process of analyzing the trading system on history. This allows you to view the results not only for one trading instrument, but for a group (portfolio) at once, or analyze the trading strategy (several strategies) you have created as a whole. Money management rules are used to evaluate effectiveness - they can be easily changed using the Portfolio Backtester interface or programming language.
It should be remembered that although Portfolio Backtester is a powerful analytical tool that can significantly increase the chances of creating a profitable strategy, this is just one of the platform functions that can be useful to you.
